Efficient order processing with centralized data management #

DESI acts as a central database that bundles all relevant information on availability, prices and delivery conditions in a single system. Connected suppliers either provide their stock on a regular basis or are connected to the system in real time via their own interface.

This structure greatly simplifies the purchasing process: Users select the required products and automatically receive a list of all suitable suppliers who have the item in stock in the required quantity and specification.

In addition to the shop functionality, DESI offers interfaces for third party suppliers. This allows participants to interact with DESI directly from their enterprise resource planning or ordering systems. This means that buyers do not have to leave their familiar environment, but can still benefit from the central availability and price information.

Design & User Experience #

DESI is based on a clear, intuitive user interface that is optimized for both buyers and suppliers. A sophisticated filter function ensures that users can find the products and suppliers they are looking for quickly and efficiently.

  • Flexible import management: Data is either actively provided via API or retrieved by DESI via FTP with a fully configurable retrieval routine.
  • Asynchronous processing: Imported data is efficiently processed in a background queue to minimize impact on system performance.
  • Standardized product data: Seamless conversion between different units and sizes, as each client manages items in individual units of measurement. DESI standardizes this data and enables flexible queries in different units.
  • Connection to third party systems: Communication with external systems for seamless integration into existing infrastructures.
